Dear Friends and Supporters,
I hope this message finds you well. Firstly, I extend my sincere apologies for the delay in updating our website; it's been an incredibly busy period for me, juggling both work commitments and the Salvesen project. Despite the challenges, I'm thrilled to share some exciting news with you.
The Salvesen brunch was an overwhelming success, and I'm delighted to announce that we managed to raise an impressive £4680 after covering all expenses. This achievement would not have been possible without the tremendous support from our community.
Our distinguished speakers, George McNeil, John Robertson, and Jim Leishman, were in fine form, regaling us with their experiences in football and athletics. A special mention goes out to Gary McKay, Jim (Bomber) Brown, and Boobs Brown for their unwavering dedication and hard work in reaching out to teams from previous eras. Their efforts played a crucial role in making the event a memorable one.
The function saw the presence of numerous ex-professional players, many of whom had once donned the Salvesen jersey. It became evident, through conversations with these former players, how vital it is to preserve Salvie's rich history and continue developing players and teams that can compete at the highest levels. The present committee is committed to reviving the glory of those halcyon days.
As we move forward, our focus remains on preserving the legacy of Salvesen, nurturing talent, and fostering a community of dedicated individuals passionate about the beautiful game. We are grateful for your continued support and look forward to the exciting journey that lies ahead.
Thank you for being an integral part of the Salvesen family.
Warm regards,
Graham Buckley
Chairman
